“The greatest ingredient for human happiness is being with other people.”

Gezelligheid is a Dutch word that relates to the heart. It encompasses the heart of Dutch culture. Val is currently visiting Haarlem in the Netherlands and experiencing Gezelligheid first-hand. It’s the effort people make to make others feel comfy, cozy and wanting to stay. It’s a lot like Hygge, but more social.

The concept is more about a feeling, rather than words to describe it. In this episode, Val talks about her experience with Gezelligheid and how we can apply it to our lives in North America.
